Christmas Cookies Recipe



Christmas Cookies

Makes: 3 dozen cookies

Ingredients:
3/4 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour 
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder

Preparation:
1.     Blend together the butter, sugar, egg and vanilla
2.     Mix in the flour, salt and baking powder. Blend thoroughly.
3.     Cover and chill for about an hour.
4.     Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees.
5.     Lightly flour the work surface and roll out the dough to ¼” thick.
6.     Cut the dough into shapes with cookie cutters.
7.     Place cookies on an ungreased baking sheet and bake 5-7 minutes, until golden brown.

Frost with simple frosting (powdered sugar mixed with softened butter) mixed with food coloring.  Add sprinkles or other edible decorations as desired.
